Maha shivratri and upsc

WISH YOU HAPPY
MAHA-SHIV-RATRI

Do you know why we celebrate maha-Shivaratri?
Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in reverence of the God Shiva. It is the day Shiva was married to the Goddess Parvati.

UPSC and Lord SHIVA.
Nataraja (The Lord (or King) of Dance), is a depiction of the Hindu God Shiva as the cosmic dancer who performs his divine dance to destroy a weary universe and make preparations for the god Brahma to start the process of creation.

Tāṇḍava nṛtya is a divine dance performed by the Hindu god Shiva. Shiva's Tandava is described as a vigorous dance that is the source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution. While the Rudra Tandava depicts his violent nature, first as the creator and later as the destroyer of the universe, even of death itself; the Ananda Tandava depicts him as enjoying.

The dance is a pictorial allegory of the five principal manifestations of eternal energy.
1.'Srishti'  - creation, evolution
2.'Sthiti'  - preservation, support
3. 'Samhara'  - destruction, evolution
4. 'Tirobhava'  - illusion
5. 'Anugraha' - release, emancipation, grace.

National Youth Policy
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs & Sports has said that the National Youth Policy, 2014 (NYP 2014) has been approved by the Government.
The objectives and priority areas of NYP,2014 are given in the table below:-

    Swami Vivekananda/Quotes
You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.
You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.
The world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong.
We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far.
Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers, and let them go their own way.
Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, yet each one can be true.
Arise, awake and donot stop until the goal is reached.
The more we come out and do good to others, the more our hearts will be purified, and God will be in them.
If money help a man to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better.
The will is not free - it is a phenomenon bound by cause and effect - but there is something behind the will which is free.
